Located at 738A Bank St., between First & Second Ave., in the heart of the Glebe, our downtown Studio offers a wide range of acting and musical theatre classes for all ages.

The Meisner technique is an acting method that emphasizes "living truthfully under imaginary circumstances" by focusing entirely on the scene partner rather than internal thoughts. It trains actors to be spontaneous, emotionally present, and instinctual, using repetition exercises to shift focus from overthinking to reacting in the moment.

Using creative games, improvisation, movement, and beginner scene work, students learn how to express themselves clearly, use their imagination, and work together as a team. This class helps children feel comfortable speaking in front of others, trusting their ideas, and trying new things in a positive, encouraging environment.

Step into the spotlight with The Play is the Thing!, an exciting and immersive acting class designed for young performers of all experience levels—even those who just want to have fun! In this dynamic course, students will explore the fundamentals of acting, develop confidence on stage, and experience the thrill of bringing a short play to life. Through teamwork, creativity, and hands-on rehearsal, participants will build essential performance skills while collaborating in a supportive and engaging environment.

The course culminates in a live studio performance on the final class, giving every young actor the chance to shine.

This acting and improv class is a fantastic outlet for social and creative energy, all while feeling safe and encouraged in a small group setting. In this class, students develop acting, improv and comedy skills including ensemble-building, storytelling, voice, movement and and writing short comedic sketches. Not only are students expanding their physical, vocal, and communication skills, but they are also learning transferable skills such as confidence, focus, listening, and trust building. This is a fun class for absolute beginners and those who have taken previous classes. A short showcase will take place in the studio on the last class for family.

In Act it Out! young actors are cast in a fun, age-appropriate play and taken on a full theatre journey — from first read-through to final performance for family and friends. Along the way, students learn the fundamentals of acting, character building, movement, and voice, while also developing confidence, teamwork, and creative courage. Classes combine structured rehearsal with games, improv, and ensemble work, helping kids feel comfortable trying new things, meeting new people, and supporting one another. The focus is on growth, collaboration, and joy — because great theatre starts with having fun.
