Acting Level 3: The Actor’s Showcase is an exciting, performance-driven course created for actors ready to take the next bold step in their training. Over this multi-week program, participants will work collaboratively on a one-act play—from first read-through to final curtain—culminating in an evening showcase performance for an invited audience.

Afternoon Improv for Ages 55+ 

KANATA STUDIO

Now in its 14th amazing year, this popular afternoon improv class invites participants aged 55 and over to discover the joy, creativity, and connection that come from acting without a script!

Whether you're brand new to improv or a returning enthusiast, you'll explore the fundamentals of spontaneous performance—including the essential “Yes, And” rule that fuels imagination, positivity, and collaboration.

In this Level 2 scene study course, you’ll journey from  Shakespeare to the nuance and intimacy of early contemporary and modern dialogue. Each scene is carefully selected to challenge your technique, ignite your imagination, and strengthen your ability to make bold, truthful emotional choices.

Step into the world of improv in this fun, high-energy class designed for all levels! Whether you're brand new to improv or looking to sharpen your skills, this course will help you build confidence, spontaneity, and creativity in a supportive and encouraging environment. We start at the beginning—the foundation of all great improvisation: Yes, And... You'll learn how to embrace the unexpected, think on your feet, and support your scene partners to create engaging and hilarious moments together.

We'll cover the basics of character development, script analysis, and improvisation, as well as more advanced techniques like emotional recall and sense memory.

Not only are students expanding their physical, vocal, and communication skills, but they are also learning transferable skills such as confidence, focus, listening, and trust building. This is a fun class for absolute beginners and those who have taken previous classes. A short showcase will take place in the studio on the last class for family.
